Field Trip to an AKC Dog Show - Saturday, April 29

If you've ever wondered what an AKC dog show was all about, here's your chance to find out! The Progressive Dog Club of Wayne County, Inc. is holding a show on Saturday, April 29, and everyone is encouraged to enter their Spinoni in the Miscellaneous class and find out what AKC showing is like. The show will be held at the Michigan State Fairgrounds in Detroit, about an hour's drive from Chelsea. The judge for the Miscellaneous class that day is Mr. Robert D. Ennis, who is a Sporting dog judge' Spinone owners with many years of AKC show experience will help you learn how to read a judging schedule, what to bring to a show, how to find your ring, how to check in, how to get your dog ready, what to do in the ring, and how championships will be won once we are eligible to compete in the Sporting Group this fall.

You can enter this show on-line at http://www.infodog.com  (there is a $3.00 processing fee per entry to enter on-line), or you can fill out the AKC entry form included in this registration packet and mail your entry to MB-F, the show superintendent (translation: the company hired by the dog club to handle all the details of putting on the show). Entries should be sent to:

and must be mailed in time to arrive before noon on Wednesday, April 12 (closing date of the show).

To enter either on-line or by mail, you need to fill out the following required information on the entry form:

Name and date of show: Progressive Dog Club of Wayne County, April 29, 2000

Amount of Entry fee : $20.00

Breed: Spinone Italiano

Sex of dog

Dog show class: Either Miscellaneous Dogs or Miscellaneous Bitches

Please note: There is only ONE class for each sex in Miscellaneous. All the males go in together, and then all the females, so if you are entering more than one dog of each sex you must have someone available to show each dog.

Full Name of Dog: The dog's name as it appears on your registration papers

Registration number: Either the dog's FSS number or the ILP number, if you have one. Check the correct box (either AKC Reg. No. or ILP No.) and write the number next to it

Date of Birth: (your dog's, not yours!)

Place of Birth: Check USA, Canada, or Foreign

Breeder: As shown on your dog's registration papers

Sire: Registered name of sire

Dam: Registered name of dam

Actual owners: Name of the owners as shown on the dog's registration papers.

You are NOT writing anything in the following spaces: Variety, Class Division, Additional classes, Obedience class, Jr. Showmanship class, Name of Junior Handler, or Name of Owner's Agent.

Be sure to sign the form (they will -not accept it without a signature!) and mail with a check made out to MB-F, Inc.

***DO NOT SEND THIS ENTRY FORM IN WITH YOUR  REGISTRATION!! IT MUST GO DIRECTLY TO MBF!***

About a week before the show you will get your entry ticket in the mail. We will caravan to the show in as many vans as it takes. There is a parking fee at the show grounds.
