crossing a light-coloured Flatcoated Retriever with the
now extinct Tweed Water Spaniel, and was first exhibited in 1908. |

famous "Lassie" dog, the Rough Collie, or Scottish Collie,
was originally used to herd sheep, but is more commonly a companion in
these times. |

Cairn Terrier occasionally produced white puppies, which were put down.
The Malcolm family, of Scotland, selectively bred these white dogs,
producing a breed easily visible on the Scottish moors, and thus, we have
the West Highland White Terrier. |
